Satellite Remote Sensing and Image Processing Group

The Satellite Remote Sensing group is recently formed at Military College of Signals to exploit the satellite remote sensing for real world applications. Satellites play a vital role in our daily life and provide sustainable development by facilitating communication and sharing of information. Earth observation (EO) through imaging sensors is the most important way for monitoring the Earth. Although platforms carrying EO instruments could be space, air, land or ocean borne, the satellite remote sensing provides a unique way for collecting the information around the globe. Today Earth observation satellites provide imagery of unprecedented quality to study the Earth for a wide range of applications such as environmental monitoring, mapping, disaster management etc. The objectives of this group are

1) To carry out research work in the fields of Remote Sensing and GIS so that to design, develop and implement such software which are helpful to our nation.

(2) Also, to provide a platform to our students where they can join us in carrying out research and development.

Research Interests:

Our research interest involves

  • Geometric correction
  • Attitude Determination
  • Georectification
  • Change Detection

Research Collaborations:

The Remote Sensing Group is actively involved in collaboration with foreign universities to initiate joint projects and enhance the educational capability of NUST. The group intended to collaborate with IGIS and SEECS, NUST also.
